Shearing Day, Saturday, April 7th, 2012
This year it only took 3 of us to shear the 17 alpacas we have left at our ranch…Graciano, Carlos and I started at 8:00am and ended at 8:00pm and the alpacas were happy to get all that old fleece off their backs! We didn’t shear our oldest Marquita (She’s 16 now and her fleece isn’t very thick anymore, and we let our little bow-legged Milo keep his fleece…we can trim him ourselves if needed during the summer.) Thanks again Graciano and Carlos…glad we got them done!
Golden Boy is now a proven, handsome Sire and ready for breedings!
If you are looking for some great Accoyo Genetics from the late Dennis Miller’s BDAP “Kahuna”, we own his gorgeous, handsome 1st place winner “Golden Boy” and his fleece and stature just keep getting better. He has thrown his first Handsome Cria from our Bella Rose and we are so excited to see his next crias! Because he is still fairly new, we are willing to offer breedings from this loving guy for only $1,000.
Please contact us if interested before the price goes up. Remember, he is “Accoyo Huacaya” and you can see his registration on our “For Sale” page…

Our Accoyo Herd Sire, Golden Boy…
We bought Golden boy as a yearling from the late Dennis Miller of Alpaca Palms because he won a first place ribbon and he is the Son of the famous Kahuna, but we still didn’t know how he would turn out as an adult and we are proud to say that he has turned out “very well, thank you!”!
Teeth cutting
Most people don’t know that (Some) Alpacas need to have their teeth trimmed every year, (I know I didn’t know!) so I thought I would share this video of how we do it…pretty interesting! (And very squimish for people to imagine this…So “Caution” to those who can’t handle dental work!) I’m very proud of my Husband Robert who is a “jack of all trades” and learned how to do it from the Best of the Best. (The late Dennis Miller, owner of Alpaca Palms in Wildomar, CA…Thank you Dennis for teaching us this last year…we love and miss your presence here.)

Feeding time
Love my morning greeting! Look at all those happy faces

Welcome to the world!
Twinkle and Braun Moreno’s cria was born on March 6, 2010.
(He was up and about “pronking” within a couple of hours.)
Male Cria born March 6, 2010
Twinkle had her Bay brown male cria yesterday on a cool and drizzly afternoon…The Sire (Father) is Braun Moreno. He weighed in at 21 pounds, that was our heaviest cria born yet! (The average is 12 – 16 pounds) He’s all legs!
